How To: Help & Guidelines

You are in control to generate images from your photos on our product pages. If you get stuck or need more guidance then please read through the details below.

1. Step-by-step to create an image from your photo

Before beginning, please review your photos and choose one which you would like to be turned into art. Note whether the photo is Portrait or Landscape orientation, or even if you would like to crop the photo into one of those orientations.

Click the Get Started menu link or go to any of the art collection pages so that you can see the different art styles which are available. Click on your preferred style and then click on the Landscape orientation option if you need to switch from portrait to landscape orientation for your photo.

Choose the options to select the product type, size and frame options, or come back to those later before adding the image to your cart.

Scroll down further on the product page until you see the Upload Photo option in the Image Creation section. Before uploading, if there are style options available to adjust the photo background then choose one of those first. Then click to upload your photo.

Wait for the photo to upload and be converted to your chosen style. You will then see your image in a pop-up window. You can also adjust the image positioning and zoom in to create a nicer composition if you like.

If you are happy with the image created then ensure all options have been selected and then click the Add to Cart button to continue with the purchase.

Note that preview images are not high resolution and some of the art styles are harder to see without zooming in, but don't worry, we scale up your preview to ensure a high quality final image.

2. Adjusting image cropping and text

Once an image preview is created and appears in the pop-up window then you have the ability to reposition the image within the mockup frame. Be careful to not leave any empty space within the frame though. You can zoom or move the image around depending upon the image proportions, if you zoom in then you will have more ability to change the image positioning.

You can also add a text overlay to your image by typing the text into the Your Text box and you immediately see it on the mockup. There is a "Reposition Your Text" option near the text box which allow you to move the text around so it is better positioned over your image. Or if you don't want any text then leave the box empty or uncheck the text option.

3. Image Size, Quality and Resolution

The AI process to create the images is very forgiving of poor quality photos, it will create good quality results with matching facial details from your photo. In some cases where it is unable to see enough detail then it will likely create new detail for the image, so always check the preview to ensure you are happy with the result.

4. Adjusting photos before starting

Sometimes you have a nice photo but something about it means it doesn't create a nice artwork. For example, you might have other people in the background or an object in the photo which you want removed. Or you could have the subjects in the photo positioned too near to the edges.

In this case we may be able to help you adjust your photo before you create your artwork image. Please email the photo to us at help@bigimpactart.com
